Aged 15 months in 70% new French oak and 30% neutral American oak barrels, this elegant, seductive wine presents with complex aromatics of leather, earthiness, violets and flower scents. Upon entry, flavors of mocha, toasty oak, and orange peel explode on the mid palate. All wrapped in a blanket of silky, well integrated tannins. Reminiscent of the northern Rhône greats! The grapes in this wine were handpicked from a steep hillside block of a small vineyard in Paso Robles, Ca. The best fruit in the vineyard!
